Salon Privé is one of the most longest running and most established events in the UK, attracting some of the rarest and exquisite cars ever produced. Now in its 14th Year, Salon Privé is set at the immaculate grounds of Blenhiem Palace and runs over four days, from Thursday to Sunday.
The opening day is dedicated to the Concours d’Elegance which sees experts with unparallel knowledge in their respective fields judge over 50 motorcars and 20 motorbikes of the rarest kind. The 1950 Jaguar XK120 Drop Head Coupe was a successful winner for Clark and Carter Restorations, seeing it come runner up in Class K, Post-War Touring.
Bentley Drivers Club held their Annual Rally on-site at Salon Privé, which took place on the Sunday, a spectacular sight for all those involved. A new world record was set for the largest gathering of Bentleys in history, with 1,321 Bentleys gathered at Blenheim Palace. This was a stunning visual representation of the development of Bentley over the past 100 years, with models ranging from the oldest Bentley in existence, EXP 2 from 1920, to the very latest Mulliner Mulsanne Speed.
Three cars were successful in the Bentley Drivers Club Concours d'Elegance, including the following:
• 1939 Bentley 4 1/4 Litre Vanvooren Drophead Coupé - First in Class
• 1956 Bentley S1 Continental Park Ward - First in Class
• 1954 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback - Chairman’s Choice
A brilliant weekend to finish off the automotive calendar and a truly fitting tribute to mark Bentleys centenary year.
