The world of motoring descends upon Monterey, California, every year for the exclusive event which places the very best automobiles on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach where the rolling Pacific Ocean serves as a backdrop. Automobiles are judged for their style and technical merit, as well as their history, their originality and the accuracy of preservation or restoration.
With the golf course laws dotted with a variety of new and old, the cars on display are amongst some of the most exquisitely restored and maintained. Three of our cars featured on the greens of Pebble Beach this year;
• 1939 Bentley 4 1/4 Litre Vanvooren Drophead Coupé
• 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Inskip Special Henley Coupé
• 1956 Bentley S1 Continental Park Ward Drophead Coupé
Our 1939 Bentley 4 1/4 Litre Vanvooren Drophead Coupé placed first in class in the category ‘Bentley Centennial Derby’. Our 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Inskip Special Henley Coupé placed first in class in the category ‘Rolls-Royce Prewar’. The Phantom III was also awarded the Lucius Beebe trophy, awarded to the best Rolls-Royce. Our 1956 Bentley S1 Continental Park Ward Drophead Coupé placed third in class in the category ‘Bentley Centennial Postwar’.
To be awarded four awards at what is widely considered by many as the most prestigious automotive gathering in the world, is an honour to all the countless hours and tremendous hard work our staff members have invested into these cars.
With Bentley celebrating its 100-year anniversary, it was very fitting that a Bentley took home the ‘best of show’, a 1931 Bentley 8 Litre Gurney Nutting Sports Tourer, which capped off a week of automotive bliss for enthusiasts.
